They say fate is written in the stars, but so is a lot of history! Constellations are areas where stars create recognizable patterns. These patterns have been named by humans over the millenia and often tell tales of our greatest heroes or myths. People use these stories to pass the time and also to navigate their lives. In ancient times, people used constellations to find their way over land and sea. Knowing the night sky, especially your own piece, was very important if you travelled. This week, Jeanette Chadwick challenges you to go out and study your own corner of the sky. Then create a representation (picture, painting, sculpture) of what you see each night. Use the stars and create your own constellation with a name and story!
