We are moving to a new location!
We are excited to share that Empower Generations will be moving to a new space close to our current space for the upcoming school year. We have outgrown our current location and look forward to building out a larger, more accessible school site that supports independent study and project-based learning.
The new space will include a brand-new STEAM Lab, wellness space, Empowered Babies space, large Village center with open seating, access to a bus stop, and more.
August 10: Virtual Meeting about Our New Location, 5:00 PM
Please join Director Malaka Donovan for a virtual meeting to learn more about the new location on August 10 at 5:00 PM. Be on the lookout for more information via ParentSquare.
August 16-20: Connect with our school counselor and get your new workshop schedule.
This is the time for families to come and meet our new school counselor, Ms. Jocelyn Fitzgerald, and receive your Fall 2021-2022 workshop schedule. This is also a great time to ask any questions you might have about graduation paths! Ms. Jocelyn will be emailing an introduction letter and appointment sign-ups. More information to follow!
August 23: Meet Your Village
Meet your village at Empower Generations/Innovation Studios! You will meet each of the Guides, Care Team members, office staff, Student Support staff, and the director. We are excited to share what we have planned for the new year. More information to follow!
August 24: First Day of School
We are eager to have our learners back on campus and to offer workshops for support. School hours are Monday through Thursday 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to noon. Make sure your learner receives their workshop schedule prior to the first day of school so they know when their cohort support is offered.
Have you re-registered for the 2021-22 school year? Please reach out to Ms. Tori at firstname.lastname@example.org to verify all your required forms have been completed. You also need to complete the Household Data Collection Form (HDC) and sign your Family Handbook. Let us know if you need assistance with any of these forms.
Empower Generations has been working through the WASC self-study over the past three years. We are excited to welcome the WASC visiting team this fall as they review and provide feedback on a variety of areas. Part of the WASC process includes input from families and learners. We are working on putting together collaborative work sessions. If you would like to be a part of our Family WASC Committee, please email Director Malaka Donovan at email@example.com. This is a wonderful opportunity to be involved with our school community!
