Individualized Learning Plans: September 25-26 and October 3

9-12th Kindness Week 2.19.2025 Empower Generations High School 3

Empower Generations High School focuses on a holistic approach to education, developing both social-emotional and academic skills.

At the start of each school year, instead of a traditional parent-teacher conference, Empower Generations High Schoolers, facilitators, and parents/guardians work together to create an Individualized Learning Plan (ILP). This living document guides each learner’s instruction and social-emotional growth throughout the year. The team continues to collaborate, reflecting on, monitoring, and adjusting the ILP as needed.

The main purpose of the ILP is to empower learners to become active participants in their own education. Learners reflect on their achievements, identify areas for improvement, and evaluate their progress. This process starts with basic self-assessment for younger students and builds their ability to critically evaluate their own growth over time.

Throughout the year, learners and facilitators regularly meet to review assessment data, reflect on what they’ve accomplished, and set new goals. Learners also maintain a portfolio to showcase their reflections and progress throughout the school year.

Please look for a sign-up option from your learner’s facilitator and plan to attend your Individualized Learning Plan meeting on September 25, 26, or October 3 to support your high schooler’s growth.
