Ms. Rosiey
Hello, families and learners!
We are so excited for our new site. Many great changes are coming our way. We hope the transition is smooth for all. If you need any help or have any questions, please let me know.
Here are some updates for this week:
Learners, we are starting our EG Ambassadors. EG Ambassadors will help with school activities, spirit week, senior activities, school tours, and other leadership activities and events. Please come see me and sign up if you want to be part of it.
School IDs are mandatory. Please bring your ID every day.
Not all learners have turned in off-site agreements. These are still available if you haven’t filled yours out. The agreements need to be signed and turned in if you want to go off site during school hours. This is for the safety of all. Learners must check out using their school IDs. If you have not filled out and turned in your agreement, you cannot go off site for lunch.
Mr. Moody
If you’re planning to go to college or a trade school and need financial assistance, please complete the FAFSA as soon as possible. Federal Student Aid is the largest provider of financial aid for college in the U.S. FAFSA will help you understand and apply for aid and manage your student loans. You can apply if you have financial need, are a U.S. citizen or eligible noncitizen, and are enrolled in or will be enrolled in an eligible degree or certificate program at your college or career school. The FAFSA formula doesn’t expect students or families to use all their adjusted available income to pay for college. The formula allocates 50 percent of a dependent student’s adjusted available income to cover college expenses and anywhere from 22 to 47 percent of their parents’ available income. You can apply for the FAFSA online at studentaid.gov, via the MyStudentAid app available via iTunes or Google Play, or you can fill out a paper form and mail it in.

With the new semester starting, it’s a great excuse to build new habits and set new goals! Think about what kind of person you want to be a year from now, two years from now, or even 10 years from now! What habits does that person have? How do they interact with others? How can you take the first steps to be the person you want to be?

Hello, learners and families! I am so excited about the upcoming spring semester. Although our new workshop cycle for the semester begins this week, you still have until this Friday, January 20, to submit any missing assignments from your fall semester classes. Please reach out to me or any of your guides if you have any questions or need support. Let’s start the new semester off right!

I enjoyed being back with you last week! I am super excited about this coming semester. I hope you are too. During the winter break, I was able to rest and connect with family and friends. I would love to hear from you about your break. Please visit me in Flipped Time and tell me about it. I have already heard a few great stories from a few learners. I would love to hear more!

I am so excited to begin our new workshop! We will have the opportunity to finish our Internment novel. The story is getting really good! We will practice more reading comprehension techniques and work on improving our writing skills. I am looking forward to seeing how Layla and her friends manage to continue to expand their resistance movement in Camp Mobius and if they manage to gain their freedom!

Ms. TC and I are so excited to start a new STEM project with you. This STEM project will be more closely integrated than last semester’s. You will need to stay on top of both your science and math tasks in order to create your project. As daunting as this sounds, you have the skills to succeed!
Our new project will be called Plant the Moon. You are going to dive deep into terraforming. Each class will be sending a representative and a project to a conference with NASA, so make sure to put in your best effort!
I am excited to learn with you!
Ms. JJ: Epic
It is a new year of new possibilities and opportunities. I’m hoping you’re prepared for it. Keep in mind: Life includes both success and failure. Never give up in the face of failure; instead, keep striving. The start of a new academic semester is afoot. You can achieve the unattainable if you put in more effort and have a laser-like focus. Happy new beginnings, and best wishes to you all!

It’s wild that we are halfway through the school year already! Let’s make sure we’re using our time wisely this semester and get off to a good start. I know everyone has it in them!
Mr. Jonathan: Care Team
We are halfway done with the school year. Can you believe it? Let’s roll up our sleeves and finish this semester strong. We have our amazing guides and staff to help you, but make sure to help one another as well! Teamwork makes the dream work! “What [learners] can do in cooperation today, [they] can do alone tomorrow” (Lev Vygotsky).
