Ms. Kim – Guide

Happy Monday, learners and families!

I would like to congratulate you all on finishing the second workshop cycle! I enjoyed hearing all of the fun and creative projects come to life during your POLs last week.

As a reminder as well, I will be finishing up grading by the end of this week and send out a final progress report for this workshop. If you have any questions, concerns, comments about grades, please feel free to contact me via email.

Have a great week and let’s start the third workshop cycle strong!

Ms. Marian – Guide

Happy Monday and congratulations to those of you who completed your POLs in science last week. I had a great time sitting with you while you presented. Many of the projects were well explained and visually appealing. If you have not been able to complete your assignments or your POL, please email me for next steps. I look forward to seeing you in Cycle 3 starting this week.

Stay motivated!

Bob – Education Specialist

A few years ago, I was hired by film producers to help sports stars when they were hired to perform in a movie, TV show, or commercial. Clearly, these fine athletes were not experienced with the process of acting. Of course, some were more talented than others, but every one of them possessed the ethic of hard work to succeed. I found it refreshing when, even though they did not have the talent to perform with words, they had the incredible work ethic to succeed. Maybe none of them would become movie stars, but it was amazing to watch them improve their performance by the hard work they demonstrated in their successful sports career.

Brian – School Counselor

As we all know, attending college can be very stressful and expensive. I am sending out letters to all 11th graders to inform them about Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FASFA) and all of the financial benefits to assist with higher education. FASFA is the free application for Federal Student Aid. FASFA is a form that collects personal and financial information from learners and parents and applies a formula to determine if you will receive any financial aid or how much financial aid you will receive for college or higher education. My goal is to introduce the FASFA process to 11th graders to minimize the anxiety and stress of completing the FASFA as a 12th grader.
