Learner of the Week: Kaydrianna
Learner of the Week. Meet KayDrianna. KayDrianna is Empower Generation’s founding learner and is recovering after the birth of her daughter. KayDrianna has been using her maternity leave to study child development and work on online classes. Through weekly home visits, we have the pleasure of supporting her growth as a mother. We are so excited to welcome KayDrianna and Londyn.
Our volunteer orientation is a first step in bringing in some fantastic community members to help us in our day to day operations, workshops, and special events. Our learners are designing a Halloween Extravaganza with the help of our Outreach Coordinator, Kristan VanHouten. And we have some exciting projects happening, including a look at the relationship between the chemistry and anatomy of the function of the human heart as a 3-week Chemistry project. Using an amazing web 2.0 tool, this learner will work with a medical expert to mentor and evaluate her project.

We are so grateful for an outpouring of interest to volunteer with our program and apologize for the delay in getting started. Our 2nd Session is tonight (September 26th) from 5-6pm. If you are interested in volunteering or helping in any capacity, please make every effort to attend this evening. Children are welcome to attend with you.

Join us for our monthly community night. We will share some light snacks, enjoy community, and engage in our theme: Begin with the End in Mind, from our work with the 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families.
