Hello, Empower Generations / Innovation Studios Families!
We are so excited for the new school year and the upcoming learning opportunities our staff members have been planning! We know this year is starting off different and may seem overwhelming, but we are here to support you all along the way.
Our first couple of weeks will focus on team-building and getting to know learners and their families. We will also spend time making sure everyone understands how to access their projects through Google Classroom and join in their Zoom sessions. Each learner will have an advisor and a cohort. Attending Advisory every day is important not only for attendance but also to connect with one another every day. Cohorts will alternate between two days of synchronous learning and three days of asynchronous learning, which means some days learners will be logging into Zoom sessions and some days they will be working independently with support as needed.

Remember to sign a new Master Agreement, which is an agreement between families and the school stating your child’s basic information, courses to be completed, and work completion expectations. Because we are an independent study program, California Department of Education requires that all learners, parents, and guides sign a Master Agreement prior to the first day of school.
Both parents and learners need to check your emails for your Master Agreement. You will each receive your own document to sign. When you click on the link, there will be an individual space for the learner and parent to each sign their name and enter the date. Once you have signed and dated the agreement, click the button on the bottom right to submit the agreement.
If you can any questions, please email email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org.
