Competency-Based Learning at Empower Generations

Empower Generations learners books

At Empower Generations, we use an approach to learning called competency-based education (CBE). With this approach, learners progress through educational programs based on their mastery of specific competencies or learning outcomes, rather than the completion of a set amount of time or coursework.

CBE is designed to be learner-centered, flexible, and personalized, allowing learners to move through material at their own pace and demonstrate their mastery through assessments that are aligned with the specific competencies or learning outcomes they are expected to meet.

One of the key benefits of CBE is that it can provide a more efficient and effective way for learners to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their chosen fields. By focusing on specific competencies and allowing learners to move at their own pace, CBE can help learners achieve their educational goals more quickly and with a greater level of mastery.
