Design Challenge #2: Save Our Shores!

We all love the beach, but as summer comes to a close, it is important to remember that we need to care for the beach as well as visit it. Coastal communities face many dangers, from pollution to hurricanes to something as mundane as erosion. Erosion is the wearing away of the sand and soil due to wind, waves, and storms.

In this activity, you will look at how engineers can help create solutions to eroding coastlines. Check out the videos below to learn more about erosion and why it’s important to prevent excessive erosion.
