Empower Generations messages from our staff

Please see below for messages from our staff to you!

Ms. Rosiey: Office Manager:

Hello, Empower Generations Families and Learners!

Happy October! LP 2 ends October 6. Be sure all your samples are in so you don’t get marked absent!

For the next two weeks, the property management company will be laying asphalt in the back of the building. Our Valet drop-off and pick-up will be affected. Starting Monday, October 2, drop-off and pick-up will be in front of the school.

Reminder: Mid-Fall Break is Monday through Friday, October 9-13. There will be no school for learners. Staff will be participating in professional development. School will resume Monday, October 16.

“I’m so glad I live in a world where there are Octobers.” —L. M. Montgomery

Mr. Twigg: Education Specialist:

It is the last week of LP2! This means once again it is crunch time if you have missing assignments. Make extra time in your schedule for work this week, ask questions when you are stuck, and remember to stay on top of your assignments throughout the LP. If you are turning your work in each week, then this week should be a breeze for you. If you need any help figuring out what work you need to do, please feel free to ask!

Ms. Marian: Guide/Advisor:

Hello, learners and families. It is with great sadness that I commenced my time with Empower Generations this past Friday. I know that you all will continue to strive for your greatness and excellence in everything that you do. I wish sincere blessings upon all of you.

Ms. Tanya: Guide/Advisor:

Learning Period 2 is already coming to an end on Friday, October 6. Be sure to check your emails for a sign-up sheet from your advisors to sign the engagement logs and submit your unit logs. Learners should be filling out their unit logs every day with their assignments for each class. Families, please be sure to encourage your learners to check Schoolytics and submit any missing assignments. Thank you for supporting your learners in meeting their attendance and work completion requirements. Have a great week!

Ms. Jeanette: Guide/Advisor:

This is the last week of LP 2. It went by so quickly! In order to make your attendance for this LP, you need to have a minimum of all LP 2 assignments completed in each class.

Please follow these steps to check your progress in Schoolytics

  • Navigate to schoolytics.com.
  • Log in with your school email address.
  • Click the Progress button.
  • Change the date range to “9/16/23 – 10/6/23.”
  • Check the Completion percentage for each class.

Thank you, and keep working hard!

Ms. Dani: Care Team & CTE Guide:

Cosmo Corner is a learner-led club that meets Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45 to 3:30 PM. Learners will choose a skill or interest in anything cosmetology and create a class about how to do that particular thing. I will be demonstrating a man’s short fade haircut as well as a woman’s long layered haircut. We always welcome and accept new learners to join!

We also are starting a Mind + Body Group, a club focused on social-emotional wellness. This will be a safe place to create connections with other learners and share how we are feeling and coping with life. If there is an interest, we will be meeting on the school campus Wednesday, October 4, from 2:45 to 3:30 PM. For further information, please see Leslie Baltazar or myself. You can email me with any questions or concerns as will at danielle.padilla@empowergenerations.org.

Have a great week!
