Ms. Rosie – Office Manager

Welcome back! We hope you had a great Mid-Fall Break! Here are some updates for this week:

  • Off-Site Agreements went out a couple weeks ago. The agreements need to be signed and turned in in order to go off site. This is for the safety of all. Learners must check out if they are off site using their IDs.
  • Learners, I want to remind you that completing work is mandatory. We want you to succeed, we are here to help you, but you have to do your part, too. If you need help, please ask!
  • Please remember that IDs are now required to check in and out of school. If you have not taken your picture and received your school ID, please come see.
  • There is no school on Tuesday, November 1.

My email address is roselia.calderon@empowergenerations.org or by phone (661) 429-3264.

Mr. Moody – Guide

Welcome back. We will be hosting Antelope Valley College (AVC) at Empower Generations Charter School on Friday, October 28, at 10 am for a live presentation for our learners. AVC is a public community college in Lancaster and is part of the California Community College System. We are all excited to hear about AVC and all of the wonderful programs and courses that they have to offer our learners as they consider their futures after graduating from Empower Generations Charter School. Please go to www.AVC.edu to see more information about AVC.

Welcome back from Fall Break everyone! With this break over, the end of the semester is just over the hill. Take a look at what you need to get done before then, and if you want come talk to me! We can make a plan together to make sure you are on track!

Happy Monday, learners and families, and welcome back!

I hope everyone had a relaxing break and was able to reset in order to finish the last week of the project off strong. Remember that we are now in the 6th and final week of project cycle 1. It is important that learners use their time wisely this week in order to finish off strong. If you have missing work or need to get extra help on something, please reach out to me, any of your guides, or other staff members. We are here to support you along the way!

Ms. Marian – Guide

Welcome back! For the News from the Camps Project, we will be finishing your MISSION US interactive game journal project! On Monday, we will be resuming the game and starting on “Part II – Finding Your Way”. Be sure to have completed playing the Introduction and Part I by Monday. We want to see how Henry Tanaka will keep progressing through his journey in the internment camps. This is the final week of Workshop 1 and the learning period. Hello Learners! Welcome back! I hope you had a restful yet productive Fall Break. I am looking forward to seeing all of you! I am also excited about your projects and can’t wait to see your POLs. The new workshops are right around the corner, and this gives you a second chance to start over and do even better than you did in the 1st workshop. Have a great week!

Ms. Jennifer – EPIC

Hello, and welcome back after your week-long break! I hope you all were able to complete any missing work. Always strive to be responsible with your schoolwork while also taking care of yourself and your well-being. As we conclude the first cycle of workshops, I hope everyone understands the importance of developing and solidifying skills and abilities learned like communication, active listening, motivation, growth mindset, and so on. Also, identify other skills; you may already have that may be useful for your personal and career life. You will begin to utilize those skills when starting volunteer work or internships in the next upcoming cycle of workshops. In all, let’s end this semester on a good note!

No matter how many mistakes you make or how slow you progress, you’re still way ahead of everyone who isn’t trying.Tony Robbins

Mr. Jonathan – Care Team

Welcome back! I hope you all had a good fall break. Let’s roll up our sleeves and get to work. Remember we’re here for you if you need anything. Let’s finish strong! I’m proud of you all!
