Mr. Isaac’s Workshop: Distance and the Beginning of Maps
This week learners will be completing a review of the basics of distance and measurements. Learners will be looking at miles, feet, meters and kilometers. These skills are necessary to understand maps and navigation. The other half of the week, learners will work to understand map keys, one of the most important parts of the map. Activities will include creating map keys and measuring distances, which learners will be familiar with from the previous week.
