Spotlight on Our New School Counselor: Welcome, Ms. Shirelle!

Empower Generations School Counselor Shirelle Gonzales

This week, we’re thrilled to introduce you to the newest addition to our team, Ms. Shirelle, our dedicated school counselor! Join us in extending a warm welcome to Ms. Shirelle Gonzales as she joins the Empower Generations community.

Ms. Shirelle brings over seven years of experience in education to her role. Her journey began as an after-school coach, site supervisor, tutor, and even a job coach/mentor. Throughout her career, she has cherished the opportunity to interact with families and offer her assistance. Ms. Shirelle is known for her approachability and willingness to help, qualities she attributes to her rich experiences working with individuals of diverse ages, cultures, religions, and family dynamics.

When asked about her decision to join Empower Generations, Ms. Shirelle shared her excitement about serving our learners and offering her support to help them succeed academically and in their everyday lives.

“I’m excited to create a counseling program for students that will provide resources, to assist students with being successful in and out of the classroom,” she said. “I’m also excited about creating connections and bonds with the students, their families, and staff members here at Empower Generations that can assist with creating a positive and effective learning environment. I can’t wait to see how the semester unfolds.”

We’re equally excited to see the positive impact Ms. Shirelle will have on our community!

As a final touch, we asked Ms. Shirelle to share three fun facts about herself:

“Some things to know about me are that I love to play basketball, I have six brothers and sisters, and I have an almost-five-year-old son.”

With her work experience and enthusiastic approach to her role, Ms. Shirelle is sure to bring a wealth of knowledge and support to Empower Generations. Let’s give her a warm welcome as she embarks on this new journey with us!
