New Staff Spotlight: Welcome Ms. Cassandra!
Empower Generations is proud to welcome Ms. Cassandra Horta to our team! She has joined us as a Student Support and Care Team member. In this role, she is essential to our school’s commitment to providing our learners with social and emotional support. She works closely with our facilitators in planning and implementing learning experiences that promote intellectual, social, emotional, and physical development at Empower Generations. Let’s get to know Ms. Cassandra!
Please tell us about your background and how you came to be at Empower Generations.
I started working for the Saugus Union School District elementary schools as a substitute office assistant / para educator / campus supervisor for one year. Then I was hired full time at Mountainview Elementary as an aid for six months. I came across this role on a job website. I had been seeking a good opportunity, and this position immediately caught my attention.
What are you most excited about as you enter your role at Empower Generations?
Once I read the job description and did my research, I was interested in the opportunity to further develop my skills and specialize within the iLEAD community.

- I like to eat Flamin’ Hot Cheetos with pickles.
- I am a huge fan of Harry Potter. I have read all the books and have also started to collect all the wands. I even watch the films on repeat.
- Nick Jonas has the same birthday as me and, yes, I am a Jonas Brothers fan.
- My favorite movie is Beauty and the Beast.
- My favorite TV show is Grey’s Anatomy.
