Dear Learners and Families,

What’s happening at EG?

Orientation is wrapping up! One more week to go, and then it is on to core classes via iLEAD Online. This week, learners are exploring the 7 Habits through both reading the text and doing a mini-project. In the mini-project, learners are diving in deeper to the Habit that they most connect with and creating a strategy which they feel would be most effective at teaching the Habits to teens.

Shoutout to Jasharry White and Anntonette Turner for completing Orientation early and moving onward to Project-Based Learning.

For Child Development, we are preparing to start our topic this semester on play-based learning! During our first week, I am encouraging the learners to self-reflect on exactly what play is for them and to go down memory lane to remember a time they played and how they felt!

This week, the learners in ESL courses worked on understanding and completing assignments in English. Everyone I worked with this week was motivated and focused! This was a great and productive week.

Learners, please reach out on days that you are absent. My direct line is (661) 537-3719.

Sha’Kirim “Sha’Ki” Brown
