Ms. Rosiey: Office Manager:

Hello, September! Families, when dropping off learners (between 8:00-8:30 AM) or picking up (between 3-3:30 PM) please go around the back of our building. We have a map in the office. Please come in and pick it up you need a printed copy.

Here are some updates:

  • Learners, you are required to bring your school ID to campus every day.
  • LP 1 ends on September 15. Be sure you don’t get marked absent, and have your samples in!
  • Don’t forget to download the ParentSquare App. This is the best way to ensure you get school communication promptly.

Mr. Twigg: Education Specialist:

Great work last week! Whether we were working on WWI history or the Slope Intercept Form, you guys did great! It’s important to follow the assignments we are doing these first few weeks, as we will be building on this for the rest of the year.

If you have questions or just want to knock out some assignments together, I’ll be in classes this week to help you out!

Ms. Marian: Guide/Advisor:

Greetings, learners and families! Welcome to a new week! This week I am focused on contacting families of learners who are not connecting with the school consistently. Whatever you need to help you be successful in school, I am here to be your support. If you have any questions or feel like it’s been too long, please feel free to check in on Zoom with me. I am here to help. We start daily at 8:30 AM.

Please note: I will be absent on Tuesday, September 5. There will be no Zoom available, but I will be back on Wednesday, September 6, at 8:30 AM ready to support you!

Victor J. GloverMs. Tanya: Guide/Advisor:

Hello, learners and families! In our freshman and sophomore humanities class, we are learning about color symbolism in literature. We will be focusing on the meaning of color, the descriptive use of color, and how authors and marketing teams use color to communicate with their audiences.

Ms. Jeanette: Guide/Advisor:

I had so much fun doing on-campus labs with you last week. Thank you to everyone who participated and asked questions. The Perception Lab was my favorite. How about you?

Questioning is the most important aspect of STEM. I can’t wait to hear your questions and curiosities next week!

“The key to wisdom is this: constant and frequent questioning, for by doubting we are led to question and by questioning we arrive at the truth.” —Peter Abelard

Mr. Troy: Care Team & CTE Guide:

I hope everyone is using this long weekend to not only catch up on their work but also their mental well-being. Take this time to recenter yourself so that you can come back and focus better on what’s important.

Ms. Dani: Care Team & CTE Guide:

Hello, learners and families! Success does not mean luck. Success means hard work, grit and determination. Some of the greats will tell you how many times they faced roadblocks, failed or got knocked down in one way or another. Life will always find a way to stop progression. Success is a mindset!

I believe every one of our Empower Generations learners can be successful and ultimately graduate to go on to bigger and better things. Now is the time to manifest that mindset of success and stay focused. Remember: It’s a marathon not a sprint! Have a great week!

“I’ve missed more than 9,000 shots in my career. I’ve lost almost 300 games. Twenty-six times I’ve been trusted to take the game-winning shot and missed. I’ve failed over and over and over again in my life, and that is why I succeed.” —Michael Jordan
