Mr. Moody – Guide
HAPPY NEW SCHOOL YEAR! We are so excited to have all of our learners back and ready to start the new school year. I am meeting with all learners and the families to ensure a smooth transition for this school year. I am reviewing with all families the learners’ current credits toward high school graduation, graduation requirements, college and career information, and what is needed and expected of you as an Empower Generations learner for high school graduation.
I am also inviting all learners to join SCOIR, which is a college interactive program that focuses on finding the right college fit through a unified college search experience. The goal is for all learners to begin to think about their futures.
Mr. Twigg – Education Specialist
Hello and welcome to our 2022-23 school year here at Empower Generations! I’m Connor Twigg (Mr. Twigg), the new Education Specialist starting this year! I am a credentialed Education Specialist who has been with iLEAD for four years, and I hope that my skills and experience are a wonderful compliment to the Empower team. If you have any questions regarding IEPs or Special Education services or matters, I would be happy to answer them throughout the year. I am excited to meet you all and can’t wait to get this school year started!
Mrs. T.C. – Guide
Welcome! I believe 2022-2023 is going to be one of your best academic years! I am excited to return to school and look forward to meeting our new enrollees and reconnecting with familiar faces. My name is Mrs. T.C. and I will be available to assist you and guide you through this school year.
Ms. Kim – Guide
Welcome back Empower learners and families! I hope everyone had an awesome summer break and got some much needed vitamin D under the sun.
For those of you who are new to our school, welcome to Empower Generations! My name is Ms. Kim and I am one of the guides here at Empower. This semester, I will be teaching English, U.S History, and Spanish. I have a lot of fun content and activity planned for these classes, so stay tuned!
A little bit about me: I am the oldest in my family and I have two brothers. I am super passionate about the gym and I am currently in the process of trying to obtain my personal trainer certification. I am also a HUGE foodie and you will 99.9% always catch me snacking.
I am so excited for the new school year and I can’t wait to work with each and every one of you. Let’s make it a great year!
Ms. Jeanette – Guide
Happy first week of school! I am so excited to start a new year with you. My name is Ms. Jeanette and I am one of your Guides (teachers). I specialize in supporting with math, science, and the arts. I know many people are leery of math, but I strongly believe that a mathematical mindset is innate to all people. By looking at math in creative and fun ways, I hope to help you build your confidence and fluency.
This year, Ms. T.C. and I are working together to develop STEAM projects. STEAM stands for science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics. These courses will show you the ways that science and math are useful in life, not just on the pages of a textbook.
P.S. For those of you who are returning, I have a surprise! His name is Elijah Storm, born July 13th, 2022. I can’t wait for you to meet him!
Word of the Week: Leery
- Leery is an adjective or descriptive word
- Leery means to be cautious or suspicious (usually with a reason!).
- Example: After being bitten last year, Sam was leery of strange dogs.
Ms. Tanya – Guide
It is that time of the year once again! Welcome back! I hope you are relaxed, recharged and ready to start a new school year. I am so delighted to welcome new and returning learners to our amazing Empower learning community.
For those of you who I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I am Ms. Tanya. I have been a part of the Empower Generations family for the past 4 years and I am looking forward to another wonderful school year with all of you.
This year, I will be teaching humanities (English and World History) as well as Health and Economics. We have so many wonderful projects and fun activities planned for this year.
While enjoying some quiet time camping at the lake back home in Canada with my family, I was thinking about setting my intentions for the upcoming school year. Taking in the view of the lake, I decided that my motto for this school year is to “ride the wave, and see where it takes us”! While each school year might feel unpredictable or uncertain at times, we do have control in how we choose to face it. Whether we each tumble through the wave or ride it gracefully to shore, we will be doing it together and have opportunities to try again each day.
I am looking forward to riding the wave with you, being there to support you, and arriving safely together on the other side!
Ms. Dani – Care Team
Welcome back, learners! To all the new learners, my name is Ms. Dani and I am Care Team staff. I love art and learning new things. I am always making myself available to help staff and learners. I will not only be helping you in class, but you will see me serving breakfast and lunch. Lastly, I will be teaching electives such as Art and the CTE Entrepreneurship program.
I hope you had a wonderful summer. I also hope you are relaxed, recharged and ready to start a new school year. I am so happy that you are part of our amazing learning community. We’ve got a lot of great new projects in store for you. As always I am here to help and support you throughout your high school journey.

Ms. Jennifer – EPIC
Hi, everyone! It gives me great pleasure to introduce myself. My name is Jennifer Ramirez. You may call me Ms. JJ. I will be your new Educational Partnership/Internship Coordinator for the upcoming year. I am new and honored to join the Empower Generations community. I am looking forward to building relationships with all of you.
Some facts about me are that I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology from Cal State Long Beach. I am now pursuing a Master’s degree in School Counseling with the intent of becoming a school counselor (I have many dreams, and that is just one of them). I love working out, eating diverse foods and desserts, and going on spontaneous adventures.
I hope to be a positive influence, mentor, and advocate for all of your needs and concerns. I will make every effort to guide and support you in any way I can. I want to provide the means for you to persevere and accomplish your personal and professional goals or desires. If you need anything (or even just to chat), please do not hesitate to reach me. Do not be afraid to ask for help; that is what I am here for.
