Youth Employment Program Opportunity: WIOA Meeting
This Wednesday from noon to 1 PM, Ms. Taylor will be holding a meeting to talk about the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). Learners age 14-17 and 18-24 can get work experience while getting paid. If you are interested in learning more about it, please join Ms. Taylor’s Zoom Room (check ParentSquare for the link to join).
The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) of 2014 enacted a comprehensive youth employment program to serve eligible youth, ages 14-24, who face barriers to education, training, and employment. Students who are interested in WIOA will start on level one and receive 120 hours of paid work at $15/hr. This is available to help individuals who want to take a step into the workforce. Please feel free to reach out to Taylor Anderson at taylor.anderson@empowergenerations.org or Malaka Donovan at malaka.donovan@empowergenerations.org.
